Korean Ramyeon with Crispy Fried Egg (Easy Comfort Bowl)
There’s nothing more comforting than a steamy bowl of Korean ramyeon — bold, spicy, and ready in minutes. This version takes it up a notch with a perfectly crispy sunny-side fried egg, tender noodles, and a flavour-packed broth. It’s quick, satisfying, and made exactly like the classic Korean convenience-store ramyeon served with toppings.
Ingredients
For 1 serving:
-
1 pack Korean instant ramyeon (like Samyang mild or any other one)
-
2 cups water

1 egg (for frying)
-
1 tbsp oil (for frying the egg)

1 small piece of spring onion, chopped

A few pieces of kimchi (optional but recommended)
-
Small handful spinach or any leafy greens
-
1 cheese slice (optional)
Instructions
1. Prep the broth

Heat 2 cups of water in a pot.
-
Once it comes to a boil, add the ramyeon seasoning packet and vegetable flakes.

Let it simmer for 30 seconds to activate the flavors.
2. Add the noodles
-
Add the ramyeon noodles into the broth.
-
Let them cook for 3–4 minutes.
-
Halfway through, add:
-
Spring onion
-
Spinach (or any greens)
-
Kimchi slices (optional)
-
3. Fry the perfect sunny-side egg
-
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a small pan.
-
Crack an egg gently into the pan.
-
Cook on low heat until the edges turn crispy and the yolk stays bright and runny — just like in the picture.
-
Remove and keep aside.
4. Assemble your bowl
-
Transfer the cooked noodles and broth into a serving bowl.
-
Place the crispy fried egg on top right in the center.
-
(Optional) Add a cheese slice to melt into the hot broth.
Lastly you can add meat pueces as the toppings.
5. Serve hot
Enjoy immediately while it’s steamy and comforting!
Tips for the Best Ramyeon
-
Add 1 tsp gochujang for extra depth and sweetness.
-
Drop in rice cakes (tteok) if you want it more filling.
-
If you don’t like spicy ramen, use a mild ramyeon base and add soy sauce instead of chili flakes.
-
For a thicker broth, boil for 1 extra minute.
