Turmeric Latte Pancakes

A warm, golden, healthy pancake inspired by the famous “golden milk latte.”

If you love cozy, nourishing breakfasts with a hint of Indian flavor, these Turmeric Latte Pancakes are going to be your new favorite recipe. Inspired by the popular golden milk (haldi doodh), these pancakes are naturally golden, lightly spiced, fluffy, and incredibly comforting.

Packed with turmeric, cinnamon, and a touch of honey or jaggery, they make a beautiful morning treat — and they look amazing in photos too!

Perfect for winter, immunity boosting, healthy cooking, and aesthetic breakfast content.

 Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or oats flour for a healthier version)

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder

  • ¼ tsp ginger powder

  • 2 tbsp sugar / honey / jaggery powder

  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or almond milk)

  • 1 egg (optional, makes pancakes fluffy)

  • 1 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (helps activate baking soda)

 Instructions

1. Mix the dry ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together:
flour, baking powder, baking soda, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger powder, sugar, and salt.

2. Prepare the wet mixture

In another bowl, whisk:
milk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.

3. Combine wet + dry

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture.
Whisk gently — do NOT overmix.
A few small lumps are okay; they make the pancakes fluffy.

Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.

4. Cook the pancakes

  1. Heat a non-stick pan on low–medium flame.

  2. Grease lightly with butter or oil.

  3. Pour ¼ cup batter for each pancake.

  4. Cook until bubbles appear on top and edges look set.

  5. Flip and cook for 1–2 minutes more until golden.

5. Serve warm

Top your turmeric latte pancakes with:

  • honey or maple syrup

  • fresh fruits

  • nuts & seeds

  • a dusting of cinnamon

  • a drizzle of melted butter

They taste like a warm hug in pancake form!

 Tips for Best Pancakes

  • Don’t cook on high heat — turmeric browns quickly.

  • Add extra cinnamon for a more “latte” flavor.

  • Replace sugar with jaggery for a richer, earthier taste.

  • For vegan pancakes: use almond milk + skip egg + add 1 tbsp extra oil.
