Let’s make the creamiest Tiramisu ever!
Classic Tiramisu Recipe (No Bake)
- Prep Time: 20 minutes
- Chilling Time: 4–6 hours (best overnight)
- Servings: 8–10
Ingredients
For the Cream
-
500g mascarpone cheese (room temperature)/ cream cheese
-
4 egg yolks
-
½ cup sugar
-
1 cup heavy cream (whipped to soft peaks)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Coffee Layer
-
1½ cups strong coffee or espresso (cooled)
-
2 tbsp sugar (optional)
-
2 tbsp coffee liqueur / rum (optional but recommended)
For Assembly
-
1–2 packs ladyfinger biscuits
-
Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Cream Base
In a bowl, add:
-
egg yolks
-
sugar
Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and whisk continuously for 6–8 minutes until the mixture becomes pale and creamy. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
2. Add Mascarpone
Once the yolk mixture cools, add the mascarpone cheese and whisk until smooth and lump-free.
If using cream cheese then,
- 1 cup cream cheese
-
2 tbsp powdered sugar
Vanilla essence
Whip together until smooth. This gives a slightly sweeter, creamier texture similar to mascarpone, the you can do next steps.
3. Fold in Whipped Cream
Gently fold in the whipped heavy cream until the mixture becomes airy and silky.
This is your signature tiramisu cream—rich, fluffy, and perfect.
4. Prepare the Coffee Dip
Mix cooled coffee + sugar + liqueur (optional).
Make sure the coffee is completely cold so the ladyfingers don’t turn mushy.
5. Start Layering
-
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (1 second each side).
-
Arrange them in a single layer in a tray or dish.
-
Spread half of the cream on top.
-
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers.
-
Finish with the remaining cream.
6. Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours (overnight gives the BEST flavor and texture).
7. Dust & Serve
Before serving, dust generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.
Slice into squares or scoop with a spoon—either way, it’s heavenly!
Pro Tips for Perfect Tiramisu
-
Don’t oversoak the ladyfingers—they’ll fall apart.
-
Mascarpone/Cream cheese must be at room temperature for a smooth cream.
-
