250 g chicken (preferably bone-in for maximum flavour)

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 tomato, chopped (optional)

1 small carrot, chopped

6–7 garlic cloves, crushed

1-inch ginger, crushed

1 green chilly (optional)

½ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp crushed black pepper

Salt to taste

1 tbsp oil or butter

3–4 cups water

Fresh coriander or spring onion for garnish
How to Make Chicken Soup (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Heat oil or butter in a pot. Add crushed ginger, garlic, and green chilli. Sauté until aromatic.
Next, add the chopped onions and sauté till they turn soft and translucent.
(Optional) Add the tomato and cook until it becomes mushy.
Step 2: Add Chicken & Spices
Add the chicken pieces into the pot.
Sprinkle turmeric, crushed black pepper, and salt.
Sauté for 3–4 minutes until the chicken turns white and releases flavour.
Step 3: Add Veggies & Water
Add the chopped carrot (you can also add beans or sweet corn).
Pour in 3–4 cups of water.
Mix well and bring it to a boil.
Step 4: Simmer Slowly
Cover the pot and cook on low flame:
